You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I admired and respected Ms. Edwards for her spiritual commitment, helping to improve the quality of life in the USA for as many people as possible, and her courage.
I lost my Mom last year at this time. I am so sorry that your Mom went to heaven so soon.
Just take it one day at a time; don’t be embarrassed to cry anywhere, anytime. She loves you with all that she is; love doesn’t stop. You have your special angel now. I like to think that all the great mothers of the world are comparing notes in heaven, watching over us all.
Know that I understand the pain that is so overwhelming right now. But you will also remember with pride and laughter having the coolest Mom ever-she is a true heroine.
You remain in my heart and prayers-we are in this together. Remember that you are never alone-Moms never stop being moms, even long-distance from heaven, where Elizabeth surely is now.
my mom passed away 11 years ago of breast cancer and I would like to say that though it doesn’t get easier to live day to day without your mom it is a blessing to know that one day you will see her again and that she will be able to say she looked down on all that you did with a smile. you do have a guardian angel now and the things that she taught you will get you through this tough time. Cate, Emma Grace and jack will be looking to you for guidance. Be strong but don’t forget to share with them all that your mom taught you…. The greatest legacy she left was the three of you that she can live on in. Let your lights shine. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find peace and comfort in each other and all who support you.
I hade to pleasure of meeting Elizabeth in the 2004 Democratic priamry race. We worked together on one occassion in 2006 on a telephone call in show to help raise money for relay for life to help very successfully raise money for the American Cancer Society. I was proud to be an Edwards delegate to the 2008 Democratic convention just after the sudden death of my beloved wife Kelly Evatt in July of 2008 when John and Elizabeth Edwards sent the very first flower and peace lily I still have today. hat an honor it has been to call Elizabeth and her family my friends. Go rest high upon the Mountain lady your work on Earth is done and your legacy lives on in all of us. With love and respect, Big Mike
There are truly no words that can make the pain go away. I know from experience when my husband Jimmy passed away in 2005. Just know that time makes it be a little bit easier, but it does not go away. No matter what has transpire over the years, know that your memories, and good as well as bad times are always wih you. Smile and know that she is in a better place and has no more pain or suffering. She is your angle now to always watch over you through the years till you meet again. God Bless all of you and know that she is watching over you. So make her proud of her whole family. Take care and always smile to up to the Heavens, she does see.
Elizabeth Edwards: the definition of a class act. Best of thoughts and prayers to her 3 living children. May they find the strength to move on in time and still let themselves find the good in the world. There is no doubt Elizabeth is with her Wade now, so maybe there is comfort in that.
Mt thoughts & prayers are with your family. My Mom also had breast cancer & lost her fight in 1988. I Pray that your family will find comfort from her Love for you all.
The remarkable Elizabeth Edwards touched and affected me long before she and the world learned of her cancer diagnosis. Her extraordinary warmth, sense of humor, strength and grace are things I will continue to hold in my heart. I believe that I am a better person for her having touched my life and I offer my heartfelt condolences to her entire family. May your memories continue to bring smiles and your faith continue to sustain you.
I have never had the privilege to meet your mother. But when I got diagnosed with breast cancer, she was a true inspiration for her strength, determination and positive spirit in her battle. Mrs. Edwards touched so many lives.
my prayers are with the edwards family. i am so sorry to hear of mrs. edwards passing. she was a wonderful mother and an outstanding woman. God threw away the mold when he made her. cancer has hit home with all i know including my family. keep your heads up, pray, and stick together.
To Cate, Emma, and jack.
Your loss is also my loss.I was very inspired by your mother as no one showed more strength, integrity, class, and dignity.
This world has lost a wonderful person and friend.
My thoughts and prays go out you all of the Edwards family. I so admired Elizabeth for her life and legacy she left behind. Elizabeth was an amazing woman. Right now I’m reading her book Saving Graces. You all were all so blessed with having Elizabeth in your life, and now I’m hoping you can move on with celebrating her life and memories. God Bless.
this funeral was nothing but a big put on for edenton street united methodist. i was there and it was so taky for them to put all their church staff names on her program. just awful of a church.
It is difficult to express in words the shinning light Ms.Edwards has been. We fellow Americans have been given a gift; that of an example of true courage in action. Courage, these days is a valuable quality and is rarely seen, particularly in those who pretend to have it. She was a true, straight-arrow Human Being.
“There are manny people, but there are very few true human beings.” – From the movie, Little Big Man, Dustin Hoffman
As a fellow American I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear mother.
Karin, your eloquent words eulogizing this special human touched my heart and soul. She WAS and will be a model to many, especially the dignity she exemplified.
As the Minister said she has moved forward to be with your brother and I believe with all my heart that our Savior will welcome her with open hands in HIS Glory.
She will be missed by many; this stranger has received a gift from her by her example that will carry me to my end.
My sincerest wish that our Lord will bless your family and especially you children whom she loved above all.
I admired Mrs. Edwards so much that I thought she would have made a great President.
Although my mom died at the age of 94,and had faced many health issues from a fall at a Christmas party that put her in a coma up to her last battle with cancer. She raised seven children, one being mentally handicapped. She also took into our home two cousins and our grandmother. She and Elizabeth Edwards would have loved each other. Even though they lived two different lives – they were not really different at all. Mom worked until her seventies as the Commissioner of ballots in WV and she was a devoted Democrat and Christian lady. But, her biggest love was my dad and children.
Just maybe their paths will cross in Heaven I know in my heart they are both there and enjoying it much more than their time on this earth.
I only heard Elizabeth Edwards speak once but I knew she was special. She had no pretense about her..& she spoke from the heart.
It is difficult to see her small children without her. That is the tragedy but they do have her teachings and they know that she loves them.
My heart goes out to them and to her husband.
Rita

I did not personally know Mrs. Edwards, but followed her life’s story for many years.
She was inspiration to many. To those that had lost a child, to those dealing with family problems and ultimately to those dealing cancer.
She touched so many lives, of people she never knew.
May God receive her in his Grace and bless her family and close friends with his healing presence.
To Cate, Emma, and jack.

Elizabeth,
You are a wonderful person. You taught us how to reach beyond our superficial differences, be kind to and caring for others, and deal with adversity.
I know my dad would welcome and befriend you up there somewhere.
With much love & respect.
