You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces – my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And, yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful. It isn’t possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel to everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day. To you I simply say: you know.
With love,
Elizabeth

Sending your loved ones our condolences from California, and know you were a inspiration to all of us that watched your Strength continue through your trials. I knew you were a survivor the day I watched you on CNN-Larry King Live-
May you rest in peace forever.
Rest in peace now Elizabeth. You were an inspiration to so many.
Condolences to the entire extended Edwards family and clan. Elizabeth was an extraodinary inspiration to me and I try to live my life by many of the lessons she shared in “Resilience.” My heart goes out to each of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you have been for years.
In life and in death, your inspiration will always shine bright.
Elizabeth, be with Wade, and Rest in peace for eternity
Condolences to the family and friends of Elizabeth. The entire nation feels the loss of a very special woman who has been such an example of grace under pressure to all of us.
Eiizabeth was such an inspiration, always smiling through the good and bad times. What a strong woman and a loving mom to her four children. May you rest in peace, sweet Elizabeth, and be happy to be with your loving son, Wade, once again.
What a beautiful woman, both inside and out. Elizabeth was such an inspiration to so many of us. Never expecting a reply, I sent her a note of encouragement when she announced that she had breast cancer. To my surprise, she answered it. It is so sad when someone like Elizabeth is taken from us but God must need her more. May she reunite with Wade and rest in eternal peace.
Dear Elizabeth, singer, songwriter Paul Williams once wrote: „Every act of kindness is a little bit of love we leave behind.“ You have left a lot of love behind in your life that many will thrive on for a long time to come and your children will always be proud of you. When you listen to Joni Mitchell sing „Both Sides Now“, this ist the line you understood so well: „Well something‘s lost but something‘s gained in living every day.“ That is the essence of it all and makes it so worthwhile. Yes, there is loss. But how much gain is there too. You have found the right words to describe that beautifully. It fills us with deep respect. May you spend wonderful times with the ones you love in whose hearts you will always be. For nothing of worth once sowed is ever lost.
She fought the good fight and stood for truth and honesty. She’ll be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her children at this time.
may you rest in peace
What an amazing and inspirational woman. Her spirit will live on in her legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her children and family. Rest in peace Elizabeth.
My thoughts and prayers are with her children and family. Elizabeth was a wonderful example of strength, courage and determination! We all can take a lesson from the example she set. I have no doubt her daughter kate will instill those same qualities to the two younger children as they grow. May you rest in peace Elizabeth and rejoice in being with your son again. God Bless you and keep you.
Elizabeth,
Rest now and be with your wonderful son, Wade. I just know you are with him and all your loved ones and friends. You were and always will be a true inspiration for your continued strength, Faith, abilities of being a wonderful mother, and an incredible role model for us all.
Rest in Peace…
Dearest Elizabeth,
I didn’t have an opportunity to know you, but we shared the same cancer diagnosis and similar prognosis. I found myself greatly affected by your passing, because it hit very close to home. When I first heard the news, my thoughts were of great sadness and my own imortality. However, after reading your final message, I realized what I need to focus is experiencing every living moment to its fullest potential and to express my gratitude for the wonderful family and friends I have.
You taught us all the power of grace and strength in the face of unbelievable difficulties. I am sure you are at peace. God Bless!
John this is for you. I will pray for you now that you must know how much love is in your heart for your children with Elizabeth. Memories are funny reminders of love and how much we have lost when death comes calling. I wish you peace so that you can be the father you need to be now.
I am sorry for your pain and what you now must carry in your heart.
Helen Charles
She showed us all how to be better mothers, better wives…better human beings.
Elizabeth we will not forget you. You showed us what grace and elagance you had. You are a wonderful role model. My heart goes to the children and her Family and even to John. May be out of this sadness that it might bring some more love into this world. To start helping other people together. We need more love into this world.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEND MY CONDOLENCES TO THE CHILDREN OF ELIZABETH EDWARDS AND JOHN EDWARDS MAY YOUR MOTHER REST IN PEACE
What a beautiful picture of a beautiful and gracious Lady….she will be sadly missed, but remembered as a faithful wife, loving Mother, teacher, friend to many who never even knew her, and had such an imprint on peoples’ lives. Not only for the disease she fought but also the disappointments from a wandering husband who didn’t even deserve her support for his work during her illness when she put herself aside to support his political aspirations….
What a classy Lady….
She indeed had CLASS,GRACE n ELEGANCE. Liz, you were indeed an inspiration to so many of us. May your life continue to be an example to all. To her loving family, especially her children, and even her husband John, our sincerest condolences on this great loss. May you be comforted by the legacy she has left behind. Your greatest tribute to her is to remember the values she taught you and abide by them. God Bless.
