Edenton Street United Methodist Church is the same church Elizabeth turned to in the wake of the tragic loss of her first son Wade in 1996.
Cate Edwards, Hargrave McElroy, and Glenn Bergenfield will each offer eulogies.
- Cate, Elizabeth’s oldest daughter, grew up in Raleigh and graduated from Princeton University in 2004. Cate, now 28, recently graduated from Harvard Law School and currently lives and works in Washington, D.C.
- Hargrave was one of Elizabeth’s dearest friends for nearly thirty years. Hargave is Cate’s godmother, a teacher at the high school Elizabeth’s children had attended, and regularly traveled with Elizabeth during campaigns.
- Glenn was one of Elizabeth’s classmates at the University of North Carolina Law School. Glenn and Elizabeth met during the first week of law school and stayed close friends ever since.
